Knocked-out tooth
Time matters! The sooner it's re-implanted, the better the chances of success. In the meantime: rinse the tooth in milk, holding it by the crown rather than the root; if possible, gently place it back in its socket; if not, store it in milk or saliva in a clean container, and get to your dentist urgently.
Any visible damage should be checked promptly, as it can affect the living tissue inside the tooth. In the meantime: apply a cold pack to the cheek or lip near the affected area, rinse your mouth with warm water, and keep any broken fragments in milk or saliva until you're seen.
Toothache
Call us straight away. While you wait to be seen: rinse regularly with water, gently clear any debris from the affected area, floss to remove trapped food particles, apply a cold compress if there's swelling, and take pain relief if needed.
