How it works:
The EMS Airflow device delivers a controlled spray that gently removes soft plaque, bacterial biofilm and stains from the tooth surface, gumline and even between teeth and around any orthodontic appliances or implants. A separate, finer powder can also be used below the gumline to disrupt bacteria in early gum disease, working alongside traditional scaling where needed.

Why patients choose it:
- Gentler on teeth and gums than traditional scale-and-polish alone, with less scraping sensation
- Reaches areas that are harder to clean, including around brackets, implants, crowns and bridges
- Effective stain removal, often leaving teeth visibly brighter after just one session
- Comfortable for sensitive patients, since the technique is less abrasive on enamel and root surfaces
- Supports gum health, by disrupting the biofilm that leads to inflammation and gum disease, particularly useful for patients managing early-stage gum issues
An EMS clean can be carried out as a standalone hygiene treatment or combined with traditional scaling for patients who need a more thorough deep clean. Your hygienist can advise on which approach suits your needs at your next visit.
