Dental Restorations
Fillings restore tooth structure lost to decay, wear or accidental damage. A few materials are used depending on the tooth and your preference:
- Composite (white) – tooth-coloured and blends in naturally
- Porcelain onlays/ inlays – tooth-coloured and highly durable
Our dentists will pick the filling material to match the colour of your teeth so fillings cannot be seen.
They replicate the natural shape and appearance of a tooth. They also help restore the function of a tooth. We can also remove and replace old metal fillings with white (or tooth coloured) fillings, to give you the smile that you've always wanted!
Inlays vs. onlays:
Both offer a sturdier, longer-lasting alternative to a standard filling when needed. An inlay fits into a cavity within the tooth, while an onlay extends over the tooth's surface to rebuild its shape. Preparation is similar to a filling, though inlays and onlays typically cost more given their added strength and lifespan. Your dentist will recommend the option best suited to your needs, using modern materials and techniques to get the best possible result.
As a guide, the costs of some common private dental treatments are listed on our costs page.
Composite White fillings are the minimum standard at The Fresh Breath Clinic. When removing old silver fillings, we use all the precautions necessary to ensure safety and comfort to our patients.
